A case of subglottic airway hemorrhage in a 6-year-old child with acut
e idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is presented. No previous cases
have been reported in which idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura was as
sociated with this life-threatening complication. In this case, strido
r responded to racemic epinephrine and oxygen. Emergency physicians an
d pediatricians should be aware of this rare complication.
