Abstract
The new method for treatment of waste waters from tanneries containing chrome and large amounts of other inorganic compounds has been studie d. It was found that the addition of cement at suitable temperature an d pH results in a decrease of Cr(III) and Fe(III) contents. The method has been verified in practice in five tanneries. It is very simple, c heap and effective in all cases with very different composition of tan nery chrome-containing wastes.
