Abstract
This paper is dedicated to the description or characterization of six ecuadorian genera of the neotropical family Romaleidae; three are new; the others were originally poorly described and this did not allow fo r their correct systematic placement. These genera belong to five diff erent tribes, for which keys are given for South America, along with a n attempt to summarize taxonomic and biological data. The work is conc erned with seven species, four of which are new.
