To determine characteristics values of the strength of non-predrilled
nailed connections, the ultimate load of Monte-Carlo simulated joints
with different numbers of nail rows and nails per row were calculated.
The simulation of the load-slip curves of the single nails within a j
oint is based on the correlation structure of the parameters of the lo
ad-slip behavior, determined in previous studies of the variation of t
he load-slip behavior in nailed joints. The characteristic ultimate lo
ad per nail is independent of the number of nails per row for rows arr
anged parallerl to the load, and increases slightly with the number of
rows.
