G. Wawrzyniak et Z. Warnke, ION-SOLVENT INTERACTIONS IN SYSTEMS - PROPYLENE CARBONATE-NITROMETHANE, Polish Journal of Chemistry, 68(4), 1994, pp. 817-823
Solvation process in the mixed solvent propylene carbonate-nitromethan
e was investigated. The equivalent conductivity and association consta
nts of ions were measured and evaluated for the following electrolytes
: Bu4NBPh4, NaBPh4, Bu4NI, Bu4NCIO4, Et4NCIO4, Et4NPi, KI, LiCIO4, Me4
NPi, Bu4NBr, and Et4NCI. The conductance viscosity products were analy
sed and parameters of the maximum approach of the ions were determined
. The results suggest that nitromethane, unlike propylene carbonate, e
xhibits a less pronounced tendency to solvate the ions in the solvent
system studied.
