Abstract
Ultrasonic irradiation to electroorganic systems resulted in significa nt effects on product-selectivity in the reduction of benzaldehydes an d others. By the irradiation, the selectivity of reduction products fo rmed by consuming fewer electrons was drastically enhanced. The effect s were rationalized as due to not cavitation but agitation of electrol ytic solutions by ultrasonic waves.
