This analysis uses data from the 1980 Public Use Microdata Sample to e
xamine the 1975-80 internal net migration patterns of Chicanos across
the U.S. states from a human ecological perspective. The findings demo
nstrate the usefulness of the sustenance organization model in the stu
dy of Chicano internal net migration. Sustenance differentiation and C
hicano industrial segregation are significantly related to Chicano net
immigration within the United States. Data for Anglos are presented f
or comparative purposes.
