Br. Neglur et al., ANOTHER FACET OF A CONDUCTING POLYMER - DISSOLUTION AND REDEPOSITION OF POLYPYRROLE, Journal of the Indian Chemical Society, 70(4-5), 1993, pp. 375-381
A galvanostatic process of dissolution and redeposition has been devel
oped using a chemically deposited polypyrrole on a cotton substrate as
the positive electrode in trifluoroacetic acid. The redeposition of t
he conducting polymer has been carried out on metals like Pt or ITO (i
ndium tin oxide) or Al. In this process, the conducting polymer is sol
ubilised in the medium and transported to the cathode. The deposited p
olypyrrole has an excellent morphology for use in the conducting polym
er battery. The, infrared spectral features are analysed and compared
with the parent polymer.
