Abstract
A case is described where transvaginal color Doppler was used to demon strate upward external iliac vein extension of thrombus at 26 weeks' g estation. Normally, transabdominal color Doppler can visualize the ili ac vessels, but in advanced pregnancy the uterus obstructs the view. T his technique is useful in determining if there is a 'high' deep vein thrombosis in pregnancy, and may also prove useful in the obese patien t.
