The ground state microwave spectrum of 2-iodopropene has been reinvest
igated using Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. The barrier hin
dering methyl internal rotation could be obtained from narrow splittin
gs of high-J lines. In addition an improved hyperfine structure and ce
ntrifugal distortion analysis resulted in refined constants and an app
roximate determination of the iodine spin-rotation coupling parameters
