Abstract
We prove the existence of smooth solutions for various classes of full y nonlinear second-order degenerate elliptic equations with large zero eth-order coefficients. We also consider some particular systems and w e indicate how the methods and results can be applied to obtain the ex istence of, local in time, smooth solutions of the corresponding Cauch y problems.
