Abstract
We report and discuss the results of a Direct Monte Carlo Simulation o f the flow of a rarefied gas flowing in a channel under the action of a constant external force in a direction parallel to the walls. Some f eatures of turbulence have been observed, but the study of the transit ion to turbulence for a rarefied gas is not completed since our calcul ations are restricted to a two-dimensional geometry.
