Abstract
In (Z)-1-benzoyl-5-benzyl-4-methyl-2-phenylimidazole oxime, C24H21N3O, the heterocyclic ring is planar. The dihedral angle between the pheny l directly bound to imidazole and the imidazole plane is 33.3 (1)-degr ees. The oxime fragment makes an angle of 71.9 (3)-degrees with respec t to the imidazole ring and has Z configuration. Crystal cohesion is d ue to van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonds involving N and O atoms.
