Abstract
The teleomorph of Areolospora bosensis is redescribed and illustrated using both light and scanning electron microscopy. The ascospores poss ess a diagnostic small, hyaline area near each apex. Phaeosporis melas perma is considered to be a separate taxon. Areolospora bosensis is pr imarily pantropical in distribution and optimum growth occurs at about 35 C.
