In the present review an attempt to survey all the theory of electroni
c topological transitions from the very first papers until the recent
achievements is made. The presentation is started from the description
of possible topological singularities in electronic sprectra of metal
s. Then the singularities of thermodynamical and transport properties
of a metal in the vicinity of ETT, their fluctuations are discussed in
details. In purpose to attract the wide readers audience, the transpo
rt phenomena including the behaviour of conductivity, thermoelectric p
ower and sound absorption coefficient in the vicinity of ETT are discu
ssed in the framework of simple Boltzmann equation approach. The last
chapters of the review are devoted to the discussion of the modern pro
blems of E?T theory, application of it to the study of properties of 2
D systems, quantum oscillations in magnetic field, generalized topolog
ical transitions. The review is supplied by the extensive and complete
bibliography including arround 300 references.
