Abstract
Facing tighter maintenance budgets and stringent environmental regulat ions, many highway departments are designing and building innovative s tructures to store road salt. One such structure is the salt-storage f acility in Newmarket, N.H., constructed with plastic-reinforced concre te and a hyperbolic paraboloid roof.
