Abstract
The surface tension of solutions of gelatin and of its binary mixtures with trisodium salts of disulfosuccinic acid (TSS) at the interface w ith air was measured using the Wilhelm method. The effect of TSS on th e kinetics of the decrease of surface tension of the gelatin solutions was studied. The TSS additives were shown to considerably accelerate the establishment of the adsorption equilibrium and to increase the re laxation time. This is due to the formation of gelatin-TSS complexes w hich are in fact new surfactants.
