L. Gillmann et al., INFLUENCE OF THE CASING ON THE MICROFLORA OF COMPOST COLONIZED BY AGARICUS-BISPORUS, Acta biotechnologica, 14(3), 1994, pp. 275-282
The role of the casing soil during mushroom cultivation was studied wi
th respect to the composition of the microflora. The thermophilic bact
eria became more numerous and the number of mesophiles was clearly enh
anced. The casing soil had a protective action against antagonistic mi
croflora. Interactions between the microflora and the mushroom were al
so studied. Moreover, lignocellulose degradation was evaluated by enzy
matic measurements during cultivation and process, and was documented
by an ultrastructural study.
