Pw. Kingston et Jc. Fries, HAVING A STAKE IN THE SYSTEM - THE SOCIOPOLITICAL RAMIFICATIONS OF BUSINESS AND HOME OWNERSHIP, Social science quarterly, 75(3), 1994, pp. 679-686
Using the 1987 NORC General Social Survey, this analysis considers the
claim that having a financial stake in the system-owning a business o
r a home-inclines people to be socially active conservatives. Net of a
standard set of sociodemographic variables, ownership is weakly or un
related to a wide range of indicators of sociopolitical attitudes and
behaviors.
