The kinetics of oxygen consumption and chemiluminescence in the course
of oxidation of the blood plasma and of polyoxyethylenesorbitol monoo
leate (Tween-80) by oxygen in the presence of Fe2+ ions in an aqueous
medium is investigated. It is established that the kinetics of O2 cons
umption and chemiluminescence in the plasma oxidation is well simulate
d on Tween-80. Some facts that are inconsistent with the concepts of c
hemiluminescence initiation in the reaction between peroxy radicals ar
e revealed.
