Specific features of the kinetics of heterogeneous gas-phase catalytic
reactions involving their transfer to the volume are discussed. Possi
ble reaction schemes for these processes are presented in the general
form and in the form applied to concrete kinetic studies under steady-
state and non-steady-state conditions. The relationship between the ob
served effects and critical phenomena in the kinetics of these process
es is pointed out. Prospects for further studies of these reactions, a
s well as their practical applications, are discussed.
