Abstract
The mechanism of oxygen incorporation into the products of acrolein ox idation over H3PMo12O40 and K3PMo12O40 is studied. It is shown that ac rylic acid and carbon oxides are formed by a redox mechanism. Higher r ates of acrylic-acid formation on reduced heteropolycompounds are acco unted for by different mechanisms of acrolein activation on oxidized a nd reduced surfaces.
