Abstract
It is found that the activity and selectivity of all bimetallic (Pd Ln)/SiO2 systems toward methanol in the synthesis from CO and H-2 exce ed those of Pd/SiO2. An opposite effect is observed in the propylene h ydroformylation process. The assumption is proved that the hydroformyl ation of olefins occurs on monometallic palladium clusters without par ticipation of the combined Pd-Ln(n+) sites and CO complexes activated on these sites.
