SYNTHETIC STUDY OF ANALOGS OF ANATOXIN

A New bicyclic alkaloids. 3-methoxycarbonyl-4-methyl-9-azabicyclo [4.2 .1] non-3-ene(II) and 3-acetyl-4-methyl-9-azabicyclo [4.2.1] non-3-ene (III), have been synthesized from tropinone through eight and ten sto ps, respectively. The key features of the synthesis are the Lithium di methyl cuprate adding-eliminating reaction of acyclic enol phosphates at lower temperatures to achieve high selectivity and N-d-methylation with 2, 2, 2-trichloroethyl chloroformate proceeded smoothly.
