I. Nachamkin, ANTIMICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY OF CAMPYLOBACTER-JEJUNI AND CAMPYLOBACTER-COLI TO CIPROFLOXACIN, ERYTHROMYCIN AND TETRACYCLINE FROM 1982 TO 1992, Medical microbiology letters, 3(6), 1994, pp. 300-305
We studied the in vitro activity of ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, and t
etracycline against 130 C. jejuni and 12 C. coli isolates from 1982 th
rough 1992 by agar dilution. Ciprofloxacin resistance was not observed
and erythromycin resistance was low (2.0%). There was a high degree o
f tetracycline resistance (55%). Erythromycin and ciprofloxacin remain
effective drugs for treating campylobacter infections in our geograph
ic area.
