S. Prucker et al., A FLAT FLAME BURNER AS CALIBRATION SOURCE FOR COMBUSTION RESEARCH - TEMPERATURES AND SPECIES CONCENTRATIONS OF PREMIXED H-2 AIR FLAMES/, Review of scientific instruments, 65(9), 1994, pp. 2908-2911
A commercially available flat flame burner with a sintered porous bron
ze disk was used to stabilize premixed H-2/air flames at atmospheric p
ressure. Temperatures for various stoichiometries, flow rates, and hei
ghts above the burner disk have been measured by coherent anti-Stokes
Raman scattering with an accuracy of approximate to 2.5%. The correspo
nding exhaust gas compositions have been derived from equilibrium calc
ulations. This burner together with the data presented in this article
can be used for the verification or calibration of a variety of measu
ring techniques in combustion research.
