Abstract
The use of ceramic materials in chemical engineering is on the incerea se. They have a number of advantageous properties which prove technica lly and economically beneficial. Realization of these benefits require s cooperation between component manufacturers and users, with due atte ntion to appropriate design. Example of successful use are discussed.
