Rg. Berkowitz, THE MANAGEMENT OF POSTERIOR GLOTTIC STENOSIS FOLLOWING ENDOTRACHEAL INTUBATION, Australian and New Zealand journal of surgery, 64(9), 1994, pp. 621-625
Four patients with bilateral vocal cord fixation due to isolated poste
rior glottic stenosis that developed following endotracheal intubation
are presented. Two patients had previously undergone multiple endosco
pic surgical procedures without obtaining a satisfactory airway. All f
our were treated by posterior cricoid split and costal cartilage inter
position and were successfully decannulated. The assessment of vocal c
ord immobility following endotracheal intubation is presented and the
surgical management of posterior glottic stenosis discussed.
