J. Baumann, BODY-ORIENTED GROUP-PSYCHOTHERAPY IN THE 2ND-HALF OF LIFE, PPmP. Psychotherapie, Psychosomatik, medizinische Psychologie, 44(9-10), 1994, pp. 337-345
The main clinical experience and the theoretical objectives of body-re
lated group psychotherapy are described in the context of a multidimen
sional concept for inpatient psychosomatic therapy of patients in the
second half of life. Six hundred patient questionnaires which were fil
led in after treatment lasting several weeks were analysed in an inves
tigation of the influence factors motivation for psychotherapy and the
patient-doctor relationship. Twelve psychophysical parameters are col
lated with the response to different therapy forms into significance r
anking sequences in a statistical study on. Even so they show sex dive
rgence, the results indicate the importance of the priority objectives
of our body-oriented psychotherapy: promotion of the recognition of p
sychosomatic interrelationships and comprehension of illness, correcti
on of the age image and a proportionate stabilization of self-regulati
on in contrast in particular to body-training measures which experienc
e shows have other priorities.
