Abstract
The nature of the nickel prewaves produced by glutathione (Glu) is dis cussed taking into account previous data on complex formation 1 as wel l as experimental data connected to the interface effects and reaction kinetics. It is shown that the first prewave involves adsorbed Glu, w hereas the second one has a bulk-character. Although high concentratio n of Glu are required, the electrode processes are still of catalytic type since at pH < 8 only a minor part of Glu bind nickel ion giving r educible complexes.
