Abstract
The development of somatization disorder is supported by the way physi cians focus on somatic complaints but fail to effectively diagnose and relieve them if a specific anatomic or biochemical lesion is not foun d. This inadequate treatment of somatizing patients may related to the focus of medical teaching as well as male skills, styles and vulnerab ilities.
