Abstract
Hypoxylon bovei var. microspora, H. oceanicum, H. subgilvum, H. nectri odeum and H. rubiginosum are recorded as regular mangrove inhabitants in Malaysia. Hypoxylon oceanicum is exclusive to mangroves and follows their distribution throughout the world. Observations on the frequenc y and ecological situation of these xylariaceous fungi is presented.
