J. Kinjo et al., STUDIES ON LEGUMINOUS PLANTS .42. 5 NEW TRITERPENE GLYCOSIDES FROM RUSSELL LUPINE, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 42(9), 1994, pp. 1874-1878
In a continuing study on the ingredients of Lupinus genus, we examined
the oligoglycoside constituents of the Russell lupine (L. polyphyllus
x L. arboreus hybrid). Five new oleanene glycosides, called Lupinosid
es PA(1-5)(1-5), together with three known ones were isolated. Their s
tructures of 1-5 were determined to be galactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D
-glucuronopyranosyl soyasapogenol A 21-O-beta-D-xylopyranoside (1), ga
lactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl soyasapogenol A 21-O-
beta-D-xylopyranoside (2), galactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopy
ranosyl kudzusapogenol A 21-O-beta-D-xylopyranoside (3), galactopyrano
syl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl soyasapogenol b 22-O-alpha-L-rha
mnopyranoside (4), and galactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyrano
syl soyasapogenol B -D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside
(5), respectively.
