Vb. Singh et Rs. Sarabi, STUDIES ON PLATING, PHYSICAL-PROPERTIES AND STRUCTURE OF NICKEL ELECTRODEPOSITED FROM SULPHAMATE DIMETHYL SULFOXIDE/, INDIAN JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY, 1(3), 1994, pp. 175-178
Electrodeposition of nicker has been carried out in a nickel sulphamat
e/dimethyl sulphoxide bath. Physical properties and structure of the d
eposits under different plating conditions have been studied. Nickel d
eposits without cracks are obtained at a current density of 0.6 Adm(-2
) and at 70 degrees C. The microhardness of deposits increased with in
creasing current density. The bath seems to be advantageous compared t
o the earlier reported dimethyl sulphoxide baths with respect to quali
ty, cathode current efficiency and microhardness. The variation of mic
rohardness with bath temperature and annealing temperature is reported
.
