Abstract
The use of new, distributed control systems and programmable logic con trollers (PLC) to monitor temperature in the process industries requir e that accurate temperature measurements be made on the job site. This paper will discuss the problems experienced in using test equipment i n the harsh environment of chemical plants, electrically noisy areas, and under conditions of wide ambient temperature changes.
