Abstract
Software algorithms are available which can be used to replace electro nic circuitry traditionally used to linearize the responses of thermoc ouples, thermistors, and resistance temperature detectors (RTD). These algorithms include techniques to compensate for deviations in the the rmocouple reference junction temperature from 0-degree-C and the conve rsion of thermoelectric voltages into equivalent thermocouple sensing junction temperatures. Algorithms are also available which can be used to linearize the output temperature-to-resistance responses of RTDs a nd thermistors.
