A parallel realization based on the voltage-conversion generalized-imm
ittance converter is used for the implementation of adaptive IIR filte
rs. Through this approach, the convergence rate of the parallel realiz
ation is substantially increased, and becomes comparable or higher tha
n that in the direct-form realization and much higher than that in the
lattice realization. The paper deals with the reasons that lead to th
e improved performance and provide extensive experimental results that
illustrate the fast convergence, reduced computational complexity, an
d improved robustness.
