Abstract
The development trends of sugar beet harvest consist especially in aba ndoning leaves harvesting, using multi-row and container harvesters an d creating temporary storage places on the field borders with possible further soil separation. It is necessary to estimate at first the cro p loss for determination of harvesting lines capacities, the loss incr ease due to the late harvest as well as output reduction and higher fu el consumption. Reduction of beet transport cost will necessitate espe cially more efficient or additional soil separation. Storage losses ca n highly overstep 1 000 Kc/ha.
