A. Blaise et C. Lesueur, ACOUSTIC TRANSMISSION THROUGH A 3-D ORTHOTROPIC MULTILAYERED INFINITECYLINDRICAL-SHELL .2. VALIDATION AND NUMERICAL EXPLOITATION FOR LARGESTRUCTURES, Journal of sound and vibration, 171(5), 1994, pp. 665-680
After the presentation of the 3-D problem formulation in the companion
paper (Part I), the theory and numerical program first is validated.
For various configurations from one isotropic and one orthotropic laye
r, through to three layers, the transmission loss (TL) obtained for th
e 3-D model is compared with that for the 2-D model. Secondly, a numer
ical investigation is carried out in which the principal aim is to det
ermine the 2-D model limits, by a parametrical study, and to examine t
he influence of the core material elastic stiffness constants C-33, C-
55 and C-66. This study is concerned with aeronautical and space struc
tures composed of three symmetrical layers.
