Abstract
Matrix isolation in combination with quantum chemical calculations is the method of choice for the study of highly reactive molecules. Diffe rent methods (A-F) can be applied for the generation of the target mol ecules. Irradiation in a halogen-doped xenon matrix may be a fundament ally new method which can be important in those cases in which previou s methods cannot be applied.
