Bl. Bakke et al., MULTICOMPONENT INTERVENTION FOR AGITATED BEHAVIOR IN A PERSON WITH ALZHEIMERS-DISEASE, Journal of applied behavior analysis, 27(1), 1994, pp. 175-176
We evaluated a multicomponent intervention for agitated behavior in a
man with probable Alzheimer's disease. Hypotheses about variables cont
rolling his agitated behavior guided intervention design. Based on sta
ff interviews, direct observations, and brief experimental probes, int
ervention components were chosen to increase rate of reinforcement and
decrease aversive aspects of his job. Intervention reduced agitated b
ehavior without disrupting his work rate.
