Bk. Singh et al., SOME GENERAL-CHARACTERISTICS OF SI-28-EMULSION INTERACTIONS AT 4.5 GEV C PER NUCLEON/, Nuclear physics. A, 570(3-4), 1994, pp. 819-832
We present our observations on the salient features of the interaction
s produced by Si-28 nuclei of 4.5 GeV/c per nucleon in photographic em
ulsions. The results on the inelastic mean-free path and interaction c
ross section are presented and compared with the predictions of a geom
etrical model. Measurements on the multiplicity distribution, mean mul
tiplicities, multiplicity correlations and multiplicity scaling of cha
rged secondary particles are studied. A comparison with other availabl
e data at same/nearby incident momentum per nucleon from proton-nucleu
s and carbon-nucleus collisions is presented in order to examine the d
ependence on the projectile mass.
