The excess volumes V(E) at the temperature 298.15 K for three (alkoxye
thanol + toluene) mixtures have been measured over the whole mole-frac
tion range from densities measured with a vibrating-tube densimeter. T
he alkoxyethanol was 2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethanol or 2-(2-ethoxyethyoxy)
ethanol or 2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethanol. The excess volumes curves are si
gmoid with a maximum in the rich region of toluene. The excess volumes
increase as the alkyl chain length of the alkoxyethanol decrease.
