The densities and viscosities have been determined for the binary syst
ems of water with tetrahydrofuran and 1,2-dimethoxyethane at 298, 308
and 318 K. From the experimental results, the excess molar volumes (V-
E) and the deviation of viscosity from the mole fraction average (Delt
a eta) have been derived. These are explained on the basis of molecula
r interactions between the components of the mixtures.
