Abstract
We present a general expression for the polarized spectral function fo r transitions leaving the residual nucleus in discrete states in (A) o ver right arrow((e) over right arrow,e'N)B reactions, which is valid f or both spherical and deformed nuclei. We apply the formalism to the p olarized deformed nucleus (21)<(Ne)over right arrow> and discuss resul ts for the polarized spectral function as well as for differential cro ss sections and polarization ratios.
