Abstract
The gamma radiolysis of alkali metal nitrates of Li.Na,K,Rb and Cs and tetravalent nitrates (Zr,Th) has been studied in the temperature rang e 80-350K at an absorbed dose of 4.5 kGy. Values of G(NO2-) vary sligh tly except for LiNO3. This unusual behaviour has been explained due to small size of Li+ ion and largest percent free space volume in the cr ystal space.
