A new series of homo/hetero trinuclear complexes of the type [M Cu M (
TTDB)(2)X(2)(H2O)(4)]; where M = nickel(II), cobalt(II) and copper(II)
, X = Cl-, Br- and NO3- and TTDD = a-1,3,10,12-tetramethyl-1,12-dioxo-
6,7-diphenyl-1, ,3,5,7,9,11-dodecahexene have been prepared in a stepw
ise reaction from the precursor copper bis(benzil dihydrazone) complex
es. They have been characterised-on the basis of elemental analysis, s
pectral and magnetic properties, conductivity measurements and thermal
analyses. All the complexes contain coordinated water and are non-ele
ctrolytes. An octahedral environment around the metal centre is propos
ed. Several spectral parameters have also been calculated. The complex
es are screened as possible fungicides.
