The evolution of the chemical and textural properties of a Ni-based ca
thode used in molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFC) under simulated worki
ng conditions have been characterized by different physical techniques
. In parallel, the effect of oxidation and corrosion on the electrical
properties of these treated cathodes were studied. The results show t
hat porosity, lithiation and restructuring of the NiO modify the elect
rical properties of the cathode.
