J. Kurzawa et K. Janowicz, DETERMINATION OF MICROGRAM AMOUNTS OF SULFITE BY MEASURING THE PROGRESS OF THE IODINE AZIDE REACTION IN THE PRESENCE OF SODIUM TETRATHIONATE, Chemia Analityczna, 39(1), 1994, pp. 85-88
The iodine-azide reaction induced by sulphur(II) compounds is applied
for the determination of sulphite ions in aqueous solutions. The metho
d is based on the conversion of sulphite into thiosulphate and trithio
nate by tetrathionate followed by the determination of the compounds f
ormed. The iodine-azide reaction is used in the determination. The met
hod allows the determination of 20 mug of sulphite in a 25 ml sample.
