Aa. Chowdhury et Cm. Maziar, MODELING OF TAMM-LIKE STATES IN SUPERLATTICES FROM A SIMPLE TIGHT-BINDING METHOD, Journal of applied physics, 76(6), 1994, pp. 3902-3904
Superlattices provide an excellent experimental tool for the study of
surfacelike behavior in periodic structures such as a semiconductor cr
ystal. Superlattices permit the construction of an arbitrary model sur
face for a particular study. A simple tight-binding model describing t
he existence of Tamm-like states in superlattices is presented. Using
this method it is possible to derive the energy levels and the envelop
e wave functions of the surfacelike states in an analytical form.
